Coach Ray

 

 

As a player, Ray has 43 years of experience.  In Livermore and San Jose California, Ray helped lead his youth teams to 2 City Championships, 3 State Cup Finals and was named the 1975 MVP of the “Livermore City Championship”.  Ray later played Semi-Professional soccer for Italia “78” based in San Jose, CA. 

 

As a coach, Ray was an assistant to his father Joe, and helped coach the San Jose Bobcats into one of the best teams in the state.  As a matter of fact, in 1979 and 1980 the Bobcats reached the Western Regional finals.  As a head coach for Monache High School in Porterville, CA, Ray led his girl's varsity team to the East Yosemite League championship crown in 1989 and 1990. 

 

Moving to Dallas in the Early 90’s, Ray coached numerous teams in the LHGCL. As a club coach in the DFW metroplex, Ray's teams compiled 19 championships, 3 finalist awards, been a semi-finalist 7 times, and won a consolation championship.  Since 2013,  Ray's West Coast Fury U-12 girls team has been ranked #1 in Northern California on several occasions and was a State Cup Finalist in 2015.  They have won 7 championships including the Cross Regional Finals in 2013, and were undefeated during the 2014 Nor Cal Premier Spring and Fall seasons.

 

Ray is currently entering his second season as Varsity Girls coach at Homestead High School in Cupertino.
